NREMT Overview

NREMT stands for National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. The NREMT is a non-profit organization that makes sure EMTs have the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in their profession.

The NREMT administers different emergency medical professional tests like the following:

  1. Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)
  2. Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
  3. Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT)
  4. Paramedic

All of the above exams and certifications build on each other. They all cover similar questions with each level building on the level of difficulty of question you will be asked.

NREMT Exam Structure

As mentioned, the different levels of the exam build on each other. Here is the breakdown for each level.

EMR

This exam is computer adaptive and includes 90-110 questions with a 1 hour and 45 minute time limit.
